The Foyle Shotokan Karate Club was established in 2008 by Chief Instructor Sensei Niall McCaffrey.

Sensei McCaffrey began his Shotokan Karate training in 1995 at the University of Ulster and achieved the grade of 3rd Dan in 2010. He is also a qualified level two fitness instructor and a fully qualified Self Defence Instructor through the British Self Defence Governing Body. 

The FSK is affiliated to the Northern Ireland Traditional Karate Federation (NITKF) under the direction of Sensei Masao Kawasoe 8th Dan of the Japan Karate Association (JKA). Sensei Kawasoe is recognised as one of the most outstanding instructors in the world.

The club Assistant Instructor is Russell Connealy 1st Dan. Russell began training in Karate in 1989 and has achieved dan grades in WadoRyu Karate, GoJu Ryu Karate and is currently working towards his 2nd dan in Shotokan for 2011

The FSK Club offers a great opportunity to individuals of all ages who are interested in getting fit and learning self defence and martial art skills.
